Opportunities for Service
 
Greeter Team- A smiling face, a warm handshake, and a friendly greeting make people feel welcome and provide a quick information reference
for first time guests.

Audio/Visual Team- Opportunities include helping with sound, lighting and video during worship services and special programs.

Music Team- Opportunities include being a part of the worship choir, singing solos or in ensembles, or playing an instrument. (Auditions are necessary for some positions such as handbells).

Usher Team- Helping those who attend worship to find a place to sit and making sure they have a worship folder along with a friendly smile and caring attitude makes the usher ministry vital to worship.

Bus Ministry Team- Drivers are always needed for various times including Sunday mornings and evenings and events such as ESL ministry, senior adult activities, and children and student activities.

Food Benevolence Ministry Team- People are needed to be available when called upon to prepare food items for meals provided for families when a loved one has died.

Children's Ministry Team - Opportunities are available to serve by working with children in a variety of times and places.

Student Ministry Team - Opportunities are available to work with the Revolution Student Ministy both on a regular basis and as an occasional sponsor. Opportunities include:
  • Helping with small groups and interacting with students on Wednesday nights
  • Being an adult sponsor for special events such as concerts, mission trips and monthly fellowships
  • Helping to facilitate a small group Bible study or accountability group

ESL (English as Second Language) Ministry - Volunteers are needed weekly to help teach English to non-English speaking students.  You do not have to speak another language to learn how to teach. Volunteers are also needed to help with transportation and childcare.

Heart Life Women's Ministry – Join other women choosing to live a life of purpose while bringing our families into harmony by recognizing God’s will for our lives. Ministry opportunities include Bible studies, retreats, fellowships & outings, conferences, and outreach activities.
 
LifeQuest Men's Ministry – Join a network of courageous men who utilize their unique interests and gifts to advance God’s purposes by moving men from the sideline to the frontline of their world. Ministry opportunities include Bible studies and prayer groups, sports teams, fellowships & outings, conferences & outreach activities. 
 
Missions Support Ministries - Several groups meet to learn about, pray for, and do missions activities. For women, the Women on Mission meet monthly to study and pray for missions. For men, the Brotherhood meets monthly for breakfast and to pray for and plan mission projects.

Media Library Ministry - Opportunities are available for cataloging and preparing new books to be shelved and also to help in other ways to keep the church library organized and functioning.

Young @ Heart Senior Adult Ministries - Opportunities for senior adults to serve and fellowship together include: Young at Heart Potluck and Program (3rd Tuesdays); Senior Adult Outings (1st Tuesdays); JOY Choir (Thursdays); and other annual events. Opportunities are also available for leading and helping with a Bible study ministry to local nursing homes.
 
Discipleship/Bible Teaching Team - Opportunities are available to those with teaching gifts to serve by teaching children, students, and adults in weekly Bible Study.  Leaders are required to make a weekly commitment and must be interviewed by the church Nominating Committee.  Opportunities are available within Bible study groups for outreach, planning fellowships, and crisis care ministry.

Facilities Care Team - Opportunities are available for those who have the skills and desire to help with ongoing care and maintenance of the buildings and grounds.

Community Ministries - First Baptist Church supports and encourages people to volunteer to serve in several community ministries supported by several churches.
